In his major solo exhibition Birds of Paradise, Karim Boumjimar presents an immersive installation that brings together the untamed energy of nature with the intimate landscape of identity.
With newly created works in varying scales and compositions - large and small ceramic pieces, colorful watercolors, and an atmospheric video work - Boumjimar unfolds a sensuous and layered universe across the six exhibition rooms of the main wing.
Inspired by cruising parks and hidden ecosystems, Birds of Paradise explores the body as both bird and landscape; fluid, hybrid, and alive in a constant state of transformation and desire.
Karim Boumjimar (b. 1998) graduated from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in 2025 and holds a BFA from Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in London. Boumjimar works with performance, painting, sculpture, installation, and drawing.
