Judith Karcheter’s works are more than just visual appearances. Clear forms meet subtle narrative structures, colorful compositions evoke poetic associations, and the precise arrangement in space reflects conceptual strength. The motifs arise from random, sensual everyday situations. The artist captures her impressions in sketches, photos, found objects, or text notes. She condenses these experiences in an ongoing, iterative work process. Her archive is both a repository and a mirror of biographical and geographical impulses—such as from her travels, most recently to Brazil. The photographs taken there appear casual, but on closer inspection reveal a formal precision. In exhibitions, they appear like poetic marginal notes that shed new light on everyday life.
