Die Sammlung enthält überwiegend Erstausgaben der von 1933-1945 verfemten Autor*innen. Die Publikation widmet sich verloren gegangenen Notizen, Lesezeichen, Widmungen, Unterstreichungen, Einlegern aus dem Bücherbestand der Sammlung und umfasst Textbeiträge von Katja Schroeder und Dr. Andrea Voß. Der gesamte Recherche- und Arbeitsprozess wurde unterstützt von der ZEIT-Stiftung Ebelin und Gerd Bucerius.
