Biography
Nuri Yakupoğlu (also known as Nuri Yakubov) (b. 1963) is a realist painter.
He studied at the P. Benkov Republican Art School in Tashkent and later graduated from the Moscow State Academic Art Institute (Surikov Institute).
His artistic practice focuses on architectural memory, coastal atmospheres, and historical urban landscapes. Istanbul is a central theme in his work, particularly through depictions of its coastal scenery, maritime atmosphere, and historical urban fabric. The artist also engages with broader European and regional urban environments through his painting practice.
He has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions, including presentations in Türkiye and internationally. His work has been exhibited in institutional contexts, notably including exhibitions associated with the Ivan Aivazovsky Art Gallery in Feodosia.
