Challenging dominant conceptions of artistic value, the research of Guendalina Cerruti unfolds through a playful, DIY aesthetic that redefines decoration not as an accessory gesture, but as a form of resilience and assertion. At the core of the investigation lies the relationship between object and hand, explored through the logics of pre-industrial production, childhood imagination, and the dimensions of women’s labor. Drawing on Susan Stewart’s definition of the “miniature” as an “exaggeration of interiority,” the research is framed as an exploration of the self understood as a life within life. Within this context, the translation of rhetorical figures into material forms becomes a methodological device, in which wood and metal scraps acquire narrative value, conveying the complexity and turbulence of everyday experience.
