Biography
Theresa Rothe (1990) works as a visual artist in Dresden and Leipzig. In 2013 she began her studies at the Dresden University of Fine Arts, graduating in 2019 with a diploma and in 2022 with a master student degree in the sculpture class with Prof. Wilhelm Mundt. In 2019, she received the award of the Saxon State Scholarship and realizes works for exhibitions at home and abroad.
Her artistic works combine sculpture, installation, drawing/painting and performative elements. In her examination of her own body and various materials, she reflects and questions the curiosities of everyday life, animal observations or even the voyeuristic gaze. Dream images and fantasies function as the basis for her confrontation with the unconscious. She tries to create her own world through a language shaped by symbols and images, which otherwise lies hidden.
