Press Release

suns.works is delighted to announce Mystery Box: a group exhibition during daytime which becomes a dim-lit stage at night, for games to be played in a somnambulist scenography created by artists.

Playing with illusion and theatricality, the gallery’s main room is transformed into an empty stage by Julian Göthe framed by curtains drawn in black rope. In alignment with the winter solstice, a mechanical countdown timer at one end of the space, is mirrored by a celestial clock at the other end of the room.

Blending ritual and commerce, artworks in the exhibition include Hanna Rochereau’s packaging paintings, characters dressed in fantastical costumes envisioned by Federico Fellini for Satyricon, ceramic masks by Mai-Thu Perret and painted celebrities by Tobias Spichtig.

Games around art, during the longest nights of the year

Within this theatre of shadow and limelight, as if being invited by Eumolpus, evening guests will be prompted to check their coats for a night of hosted entertainment,…
