The title of the first exhibition made reference to literature, while the third was an anagram of the title of a painting by Francis Picabia. The fourth has its own relationship with music. Beneath the words you can hear the characteristic sound of Hook’s bass guitar. Two plus three is five. Three plus seven is ten. Five goes into ten twice, like two paintings, two gods, the god of nature and the god of reason. Like a balance of opposites. If we add an invisible tenth participant to the nine exhibitors, they can join hands and in double file make their way down the patterned path to the gate of the anus, to heritage, to tradition, to shame, but also to survivors and descendents.
