Description
The Political Marketplace is an open, non-hierarchical time-based happening-jam / event where movement, voice, sound and observation develop a cumulative dadaist practice. The main objective is to coexist without a fixed performer/audience divide. Rooted in Zurich’s Dadaist history and inspired by Cabaret Voltaire and Marcel Janco’s 1916 poster design for «Chant N_»*, the political marketplace / happening jam translates Dadaism into experimental contemporary practice. Participants are invited to embrace chaos, play and circular exchange as political strategy. They become both performers and witnesses, negotiating power, voice and visibility through improvisation and archiving the process.
The marketplace concept revives Dada’s use of absurdity, play and refusal as political tools, transforming exchange into embodied action rather than debate.
