Soft Spot translates a familiar, transient image of childhood into a dense, enduring stone form. Carved in onyx, the figure appears soft and inviting, yet its material resists touch, consumption, and change. This tension between visual tenderness and physical permanence transforms the object into a residue of memory, recognizable, but no longer fully accessible. Rather than preserving childhood as a place of comfort, the work presents it as an unstable fragment through which vulnerability, nostalgia, and identity continue to be reexamined.
