Description
‘Amalan’ succeeds to ‘Lamaran’ (Proposal) (2023) and ‘Ramalan’ (Prophecy) (2024), curated under the same main title ‘Motif’, which means ideas or motivation for doing something. The first theme, Lamaran, was a form of proposal and appreciation for those who have created artworks in various patterns. For the second theme, Ramalan did not only refer to prophecy but also reimagined past moments and looked forward to the future without making uncertain predictions. Regarding the final theme, how do the artists practise the patterns that have shaped the community and learned from the outcomes? More than 20 Indonesian and overseas-based artists present their works following the theme, exploring immersive ideas and mediums.
