Her research centres on politics, war, and photography, aiming to bridge the mutual connection between the socio-political narrative and historical complexity through collective memory approaches. The research spans the aftermath of war, political tensions, collective memories of history, and archives from the colonial period to the present-day governmental system.
Currently based in Surabaya, Indonesia, Velda is dedicated to uncovering overlooked stories and contributing a deeper understanding of Southeast Asian art within global discourses.
