Through sculpture, appliqué and drawings, Gutiérrez’s practice investigates the symbolic and political ambiguities of the corporal. His work proposes a conception of the body that transcends physical potency, understanding it as a sum of dimensions and intermediate states.

His discourse delves into the links between structure and experience, frequently drawing from his lived experience as a transmasculine identity. Gutiérrez utilizes garment-making techniques as one of his primary artistic mediums, alongside various systems of visual language that act as devices conditioning perception. From a semiotic perspective, his pieces explore how the body is constructed, resisted, or transformed in the face of societal structures, seeking to expand its limits on both a conceptual and material plane.
