Biography
Bandol, a Provencal town on the Mediterranean coast, is more like a seaside resort bathed in warm sunlight than a surf city. However, as soon as summer ends, the Mediterranean reveals a very different side, far from the notorious heat. Its jagged coastline is home to waves that vary with the swell, a phenomenon Olivier Millagou knows well. Born in 1974, he grew up there and returned after finishing his studies, wanting to enhance the area, its history, and its resources. He did not return to set up a studio. His time at art school was marked by Marcel Duchamp, for whom life itself was a work of art and whose agenda was his ultimate artwork. By the end of his studies, one thing was certain: a studio did not correspond to his approach. The beach and his home would be his places of life and work.
