
Biography
Lorena is a Los Angeles–based artist, author, and educator whose work moves between documentary practice, visual sociology, and personal inquiry. Working across the United States and internationally, she uses photography to explore how identity is formed, performed, remembered, and represented. Her books include The Michael Jacksons, is an ethnographic study of Michael Jackson impersonator culture, and A Habit of Self Deceit, a deeply personal photographic monograph. Her work has been exhibited at the United Nations Headquarters, the Indianapolis Museum of Contemporary Art, and the ArcLight Hollywood, among other venues.
