Biography
Javier Velázquez Cabrero (Madrid, 1990) is a visual artist and dancer. He holds a BFA in Fine Arts from the Complutense University of Madrid, having completed part of his studies at the ABK Stuttgart (Germany) under Professor Christian Jankowski, before earning an MA in Documentary Filmmaking from the National School of Cinematic Arts at the National Autonomous University of Mexico and completing his postgraduate studies at SOMA (Mexico City).
He has participated in festivals and group exhibitions including Generaciones Award 2025 (La Casa Encendida, Madrid, 2025), La Casa Erosionada (Museo Anahuacalli, Mexico, 2023), Rencontres Internationales Paris/Berlin (Paris, 2020), ZONAMACO Patio (Mexico, 2021), For Once: Season 3 (The Centre for the Less Good Idea, Johannesburg, 2018), FIVA International Video Art Festival (Buenos Aires, 2018), Psychic Energy (Coimbra Biennial, 2015), Festival Verbo (Galeria Vermelho, São Paulo, Brazil, 2018, 2019, 2022), and at the Pinacoteca do Ceará…
