Biography
Gregory Tara Hari creates artworks based on intensive research and a broad interest in social and cultural circumstances. He interweaves real historical events with current political debates, linking them to eyewitness accounts, quotes from newspapers or social media, and connecting them to verses of a pop song, drawing on themes such as colonialism, queer history and architecture. In doing so, he creates a multi-layered artistic language that illustrates the complexity of contexts and conflicts that preoccupy us as a society, both yesterday and today. Haris' works are an attempt to find a way to deal with our polarized world, as reflected both in performance and visual art.
