Biography
Esmeralda Gómez Galera (Ciudad Real, 1993) is a curator and writer based in Mallorca. She holds a PhD in Arts, Humanities, and Education. Her practice explores the relationships between contemporary art, territory and situated forms of knowledge, developing projects that engage with specific social, geographical and ecological contexts.
She has worked across institutional, independent and gallery contexts, and was director of L21 Gallery (2018–2023). She currently develops curatorial projects with museums, art centers and galleries, and is the author of Highlights Contemporary, a newsletter focused on artistic production in the Balearic Islands.
Recent curatorial projects include exhibitions at Es Baluard Museu, Biennal B, Casal Solleric, Balazsi Gallery and Baró Galeria.
