Connor Dillman is an artist from Los Angeles based in London with a practice centered around painting but inclusive of writing and podcasting.
Private moments of observation inform his works characterized by their compositional stillness and perspectival fluidity. They arise from visual incongruities noticed in everyday settings, most often at home or in motion—domestic spaces and fleeting phenomena seen while traveling form the basis of his imagery.
But while his subject matter is rooted in locatable firsthand experiences, his process prioritizes formal inquiry over pictorial resolution; dealing with the dialectic between seeing and the materiality of paint is a core concern of his practice.
Extending his sensibility into collaborative dialogue, Connor hosts People Painting, a podcast of conversations with early career painters. The project functions as an open-source archive of creative inspiration and support for his artistic community.
