Bones Gilmore is a post-internet folk artist creating allegorical figurative drawings which deal with emotional and spiritual themes like love, pain, and surrender. His art practice is daily and devotional, working primarily on 14×19" panels of medium-density fiberboard with a limited palette of colored pencils and graphite.

He studied art at Bard College, where he was held back for a year, graduating in 2022. Working out of his home studio in Ridgewood, Queens, Bones has made a fulltime job of drawing, selling artwork through his Instagram page @bOnezone.

Drawing inspiration from anime, memes, renaissance art, sports, and religious iconography, Bones has developed a distinct style and visual language which describe hyperbolic versions of his spirit and experience.

With varying degrees of intention all of his artwork is self-portraiture.
