Biography

Andrés Izquierdo's practice is structured around processes of transformation and cosmological dynamics. Through sculpture, drawing, and furniture design, he works with the underlying conditions of specific places and the vital rhythms that structure their surroundings.

His work brings into relation different systems and fields of knowledge: the anarchic and the structured, the fluid and the static, biology and theology, or psychology and archaeology. These tensions emerge through vibrant, stained, and pareidolic forms that produce subtle shifts in perception and space.

Through the collection of found materials, the reworking of domestic forms, and the reuse of previous works, Izquierdo activates elements that would otherwise remain fixed: lunulae that unfold and support one another; figures of clay and bone oscillating between the magical and the rudimentary; or worn synthetic flowers integrated into complex accumulative systems.
