Founded in 2016 and based in the West Village residence of Bill Cournoyer, The Meeting is an appointment-only exhibition space. Its name references The Meeting, or Bonjour Monsieur by Gustave Courbet, a painting that portrays the encounter between artist and patron and symbolizes the generative relationship between them. The Meeting is dedicated to supporting emerging and living contemporary artists.​
