Maya Golyshkina is a Russian artist based in London whose work uses self-portraiture to blur the line between person and object. Drawing on performance, staged photography, and sculptural construction, she makes images in which toothpaste, eggs, newspapers, and other ordinary materials become tools for thinking about identity, judgment, and bodily freedom. The work rejects polish in favor of visible process, and uses absurdity not to soften serious questions but to sharpen them.
