“I would be unable to believe that sixty minutes could be squeezed into the tiny arc of blue which was comprised between their two golden figures.”
As our gaze settles on the works of Patricia Fernández, a kind of evaporating terrain begins to form. Even before the physical image reaches the retina, our inner eye has already settled into a small cradle, living in a world of its own. The inner being quietly crosses a threshold and steps onto a small landing, pausing at some point along the way. There, it encounters a season of time: one already passed, or one yet to come. For the artist, this season may belong to her elderly grandfather; it may also be the space she herself inhabits now and also the distant future her daughter will one day live. The artist presents before us the images that emerge from the vortex of time, space, and narrative seen/sought by this small being (See-er/seeker, 2025).
