What might take shape within something that refuses to end?
Upper Ankyle presents Persistent Interval, a group exhibition curated by Vangelis Tzolakis, featuring Dien Berziga, Lu Gan, Tanja Kapoglou, Konstanza Kapsali, Pavlos Nikolakopoulos, Aristomenis Theodoropoulos, and Athina Triantafyllou. The exhibition opens on Thursday, 17 September 2026, at 19:00, and runs through 11 October 2026.
Taking as its point of departure the sense that we are living through a period of continuous transition, Persistent Interval approaches the present as an extended in-between: a time in which the old has lost its coherence while the new remains unformed. Transition is no longer simply a passage from one state to another, but becomes a condition in itself. Time unfolds as an open and unstable field, where memories, images, and materials remain in constant flux.
Drawing on Jacques Derrida’s spectral understanding of time and Antonio Gramsci’s concept of the interregnum, the exhibition considers a present…
