It is almost nightfall. An otter approaches Smallville stealthily. It slips its sleek, still-damp body toward the entrance of the exhibition and — bang! — singes its little snout.

Later, in the dead of night, a fox tries its luck. Bang! Its muzzle gets scorched.

At dawn, a deer watches the situation from the bodywork of the Draizes, hesitates for a moment, then gives up.

A bear, on the other hand, understands immediately.

In the late afternoon, a rabbit — or perhaps a hare — does not insist.

Soon it is 6:00 pm. Two visitors, accompanied by a smartly dressed pigeon, make their way across the rusty footbridge. Beneath the greenish glow emanating from the neon light, they hesitate like the deer, assessing their chances while smoking a cigarette. After consulting one another, they take the plunge. Bang!

A small dose of audacity will be required to discover the first exhibition of Smallville’s new programme. Those bold enough to cross the threshold will gain access to a new installation by…
