Press Release
From the 24th of October to the 29th of November 2025, Marc Jancou Contemporary is delighted to present between two opposites, event an exhibition by Tokyo-based artist Yui Yaegashi.
The exhibition brings together a collection of small, abstract paintings, both existing and new works, composed entirely of rectangles and lines, reflecting Yaegashi’s ongoing exploration of the infinite possibilities within minimalist abstraction.
Often characterized by a restrained colour palette, Yaegashi’s paintings are typically executed in cold tones, which create an atmosphere of stillness and introspection. Despite the apparent precision, small irregularities often interrupt the otherwise calculated nature of her work. These subtle disruptions act as an invitation for the viewer to engage with the underlying tension between control and spontaneity, highlighting the nuances of each piece.
