For his first solo exhibition at Neue Alte Brücke, the artist has produced two hand-woven copper reproductions of a traditional Korean winnowing basket, a tool historically used to clean harvested rice. Beyond its agricultural purpose, the basket once served a symbolic role in a ritual of childhood discipline: children who wet the bed were made to wear it on their heads and walk through the village asking neighbors for salt, a gesture meant to purge impurity through public shame.
