Aysha E Arar is a Palestinian artist who lives and works in Jaljulia, where she was born. She works across various disciplines including painting, video, performance, and poetry. Aysha E Arar has always practiced an art of resistance that seeks, through fiction and poetry, to come to terms with the conditions of Palestinian existence, its history, and its future. Working in spontaneous forms, she develops a deeply inhabited and political body of work. As a painter, she makes works on paper, on canvas, or directly on walls, moving fluidly between abstraction and figuration and populating her compositions with creatures, animals, and beings inspired by Palestinian legends.

In collaboration with the Cc Strombeek cultural center in Grimbergen, Belgium, La Ferme du Buisson presents “Al Farisa,” an exhibition centered on a mounted female fighter (the Arabic title “Al Farisa” can be translated as “The Horsewoman”).
