“There are factories all over the place here in the town of Gislaved—some are up and running, some are not. My first week here, I visited one that had closed down some years ago and it was a magnificent place. The huge factory halls echoed with every step I took, and I couldn’t resist yelling out some
nonsense just to hear it bounce back.
In some of the smaller spaces that the industry has abandoned, there are now some new tenants renting: a Finnish association, an archery club and a frog collector.
I read somewhere that the most colorful frogs are the most poisonous, but that you can control their poison production, depending on what you feed them.”
Carl-Oskar Jonssons artistic output is manily in text and drawing, exploring the expressive potential of the most foundational tools of artistic and litterary creation. In the Gislaved exhibition he shows rare sculptural works that are characteristically, both materially minimalist, en conceptually expressive.
