Press Release

Old Babies are a series of three video sculptures designed for display in the windows of the gallery. The sculptures are comprised of smartphone videos and baby dolls sourced from the postwar period, 1945- 1968, by Knickerbocker and Rushton Toy Co. Each smartphone video is a study in a rudimentary moving image technique: animation, stop motion, film-reversal all submitted to digital reprocessing.

Lid, dome, igloo, boob, bomb 1-7, features a coffee table topped with hand worked and soldered tin-copper domes. The small sculptures bear a resemblance to previous slurpee-lid works in scale, integrating the igloo works of Mario Merz as a point of reference.
