The duo exhibition “Everything Beautiful Bleeds First” by Ádám Dallos and Orsi Nyíri is taking place in the industrial spaces of Artus in Budapest and presents the connections between the two painting positions.
Orsi Nyíri’s latest series presents the four seasons in a kind of “Spotify Wrapped” atmosphere: each picture is a personal interpretation of a season, such as spring, which was inspired by the fantasy name “pink pilates princess strut pop”. In her paintings, young girls appear in surreal situations, such as in winter with diamond teeth, during a bank robbery, skating on the hood of a car or in spring in leopard-print pants, tearing each other’s hair as twins, in moonwalking shoes.
Ádám Dallos’ 2024 series of “Butterfly boys” was inspired by the Greek painter Yannis Tsarouchis’ paintings of naked boys with butterfly wings painted in the 1960s. In Dallos’ mythologically inspired paintings, hybrid creatures mingle with each other, like a Minotaur kissing a peacock...More
