The downpipe of a guardhouse is extended and routed once around the building before reaching the ground again at its original point. The work intervenes in an existing order without dissolving it. The function remains intact, but the course is altered. “Verlaufen” here refers both to the movement of water and to a possible disorientation, addressing the ambivalence of detours. © Photos: Jan Ribbers
