Biography

Samantha Lance is a Canadian curator and writer whose work fosters meaningful connections between artists and communities. She holds a Master of Visual Studies in Curatorial Studies from the University of Toronto and a BFA with Distinction in Criticism and Curatorial Practice from OCAD University. Lance has worked with institutions including the Sault Ste. Marie Museum, the Visual Arts Centre of Clarington, the Art Museum at the University of Toronto, The Power Plant Contemporary Art Gallery, Onsite Gallery, Workman Arts, Station Gallery, and the Art Gallery of Algoma. Her writing has been published by C Magazine, Latitude Gallery New York, and Al-Tiba9 Contemporary Art Magazine.

Lance’s research centers on interdisciplinary practices exploring hybrid identities, the healing of trauma, and intergenerational knowledge transfer.
