Depending on the translation, Charles Baudelaire’s description of a cat’s movement in his poem Le Chat reads as follows: of feeling your electric body¹, or of your electric nerves², or of your body electric³

Ostensibly, this is an exhibition concerned with performance.

The figures in each artwork variably assume the roles of the performer, with their electric nerves, and the audience, with their electric body.

There are stages of sorts. There are acts and there are reactions. These figures inhabit the position of the musician, the muse, and the fans.

It is perhaps only incidental that each is a cat, or a “cat”.
