Description
I feel like Ramses
The tongues emerge from nothingness and lick the display surface from within; in doing so, they come to the viewer within the display with maximum proximity. In a world of interfaces that can be shot at, where tactile and bodily access are obstructed, they encounter the viewer with an almost intrusive immediacy, only to disappear again after a short moment into a space that cannot be shot at. The works were created in 2021 and specifically developed for smartphones and tablets. In their ephemeral form, they are shown in an installation setting and are occasionally sent to friends and acquaintances via message and similar channels.
In FELD, these works can be seen outside the exhibition rooms: in the new foyer and in the outdoor area at both entrances to the museum itself. The tongues as well as the work Hours / Stunden, both sensory organs, appear here as an autonomous entity that has a life for itself without any further body.
