Biography
Lubomír Typlt (born 1975) is an acclaimed Czech painter, sculptor and lyricist. He studied painting in Czechia and in Germany at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf under Markus Lüpertz, Gerhard Merz and A. R. Penck.
His work is characterized by intense, contrasting colors, expressive brushwork, and psychologically charged scenes—often depicting groups of adolescents caught between vulnerability, aggression, freedom, and control. Through sharp contours and theatrical compositions, Typlt explores identity, collective behavior, and the tensions between individuality and conformity, rendering figures that appear both isolated and interconnected. He also writes the surreal lyrics for the experimental hip-hop group WWW Neurobeat.
