Like an inescapable mantra, Tobi Keck is repeating the image of the Cambrian Trilobite over and over by hundreds and thousands of numbers. As one of the most abundant complex creatures in early natural history it stands as an icon for life on earth. Depicting it in various different shapes and media, the show is a conceptual celebration dedicated to the prehistoric crustacean. Furthermore, the long extinct animal will be represented by somebody much more relative to their visual appearance than from an evolutionary point of view: The well known Isopod or Rollie-Pollie lives a discreet existence down on the soil decomposing all sorts of organic debris and thereby playing a crucial role in maintaining the very basic processes in nature. Even though they are no direct descendants of the Trilobites, the Isopods will embody a playful time-travel-experience to the viewers and build an aesthetic bridge between hundreds of millions of years.
