Biography
Barbara Horvath is Head of Operations and curator at PART International Art Residency Austria since 2024. Before that, she has held curatorial positions at renowned institutions, including TBA21 Thyssen-Bornemisza Art Contemporary, the MAK Museum of Applied Arts in Vienna, Lehmann Maupin in New York, and Public Art Vienna. She also served until 2022 as Artistic Director at Kunstverein Eisenstadt. From 2023 to 2025, she worked at KunstHausWien, where she curated notable solo exhibitions featuring Anne Duk Hee Jordan, Emma Talbot, and Mika Rottenberg.
In addition to her institutional roles, Barbara Horvath’s independent curatorial projects include exhibitions at the Landesgalerie Burgenland (Ralo Mayer), the Angewandte University Gallery in Vienna, as well as public art initiatives in Karlsruhe (Michael Beutler, Erika Hock), St. Pölten (Eva Schlegel, Aldo Giannotti), and Vienna (Böhler & Orendt, Anna Khodorkovskaya).
