Fire@Data Center 2026 is Zhu Jinkun’s rearticulation of his 2022 series of the same title. The earlier version emerged from the context of network society, Web3, and non-fungible tokens, examining the gradually emerging relationship between virtual value and material production. By 2026, technological infrastructures no longer enter reality as novel innovations; instead, they have become underlying systems that organize resources, value, identity, and collective imagination. The series therefore shifts its focus from technological transformation itself toward the ways in which technological systems continuously update their narratives, allowing their own contradictions to be renamed, repackaged, and recirculated.
The series consists of five video installations: Crypto No Mercy 2026, MetaVoodoo 2026, VIBE3 2026, Cloud Command 2026, and Acting Intelligence 2026. These works approach technology as a cultural system composed of material infrastructures, commercial languages, belief…
