Opening at Jogja National Museum, this year’s ARTJOG MMXIX: Arts in Common features different generations of artists and projects including those we represent, namely Arin Sunaryo, Uji Handoko, Syaiful Garibaldi, and Bagus Pandega in collaboration with Kei Imazu.
In Kroraj Lirtuaria, Syaiful Aulia Garibaldi (Tepu) creates a site-specific installation featuring a distinct gesture combining his interest in the networked and interconnected nature of ecology. Made to resemble a "talud" (architectural elements designed for highways and buildings on cliffs or unstable grounds), the lichen overgrown structure cycles water to represent the symbolic nature of life itself, depicting the coexistence between man-made infrastructure and nature.
Bagus Pandega and Kei Imazu's colaborative effort is an attempt to present a phenomenon of the global climate change. In their research, they have found that one of the factors of the current climate change is deforestation and mass loggings in Indonesia, 23%…
