Slasher
Oda Haugerud (Malmö), Asbjørn Skou (Copenhagen), Chantal Peñalosa Fong (Mexico/NY), Stina Fors (Vienna), and Marta Echaves (Madrid)
—
Slasher is an exhibition inspired by the short story of the same name by Ecuadorian writer Mónica Ojeda, published in 2020. Ojeda describes her style as “Andean Gothic,” in which she combines horror tropes with cosmologies from the Andes to explore the haunting nature of patriarchy and political violence. In Slasher, she tells the story of two twin sisters who perform at a noise festival.
The exhibition presents works by Oda Haugerud (Malmö), Asbjørn Skou (Copenhagen), Chantal Peñalosa Fong (Mexico/NY), Stina Fors (Vienna), and Marta Echaves (Madrid), working across performance, film, drawing, sculpture, and sound. Each artist constructs their own ghost stories—narratives of resistance and migration, sexuality and fear.
