From 7 March to 30 August, De Warande presents the first institutional solo exhibition by Belgian artist and theatre maker Thomas Verstraeten.
In Een onzichtbare stad (An Invisible City), Verstraeten explores the city as a stage: a choreography of everyday moments, full of stories. Videos, installations, scenographic elements and documentary material show how Verstraeten's practice navigates between visual art and performing arts, between performance and exhibition, between the street and the institution.
Een onzichtbare stad marks a key moment in Thomas Verstraeten's solo work. In this exhibition, he unfolds an artistic practice at the intersection of visual arts and performing arts, in which the city functions as a field of work, material and co-player.
